Objectives

The main objective of the federation is to develop handloom and handicraft items made of wool, cotton, silk and manmade fibres. Other objectives are:

1. To promote economic interests of the member cooperative societies by way of design development, modernisation of handlooms, handicraft and other appliances
2. To arrange inputs like yarn, dyes and chemicals
3. To prescribe standards and ensure quality
4. To organise intensive publicity and extensive propaganda for marketing and export of handloom and handicraft products of their member constituent societies
5. To render technical guidance, managerial assistance, financial aids with view to give a fillip for overall development of handloom and handicraft industry
6. To develop, promote and strengthen primary textile cooperative societies engaged in production and sale of handloom fabrics
7. To coordinate activities of the societies for the development of cotton, silk and other handloom industry
8. To create unity and spirit of mutual self-help and trade morality among its members
9. To study working problems of member societies and formulate and implement programmes for their development
10. To obtain dealership of different textile mills for purchase and procure raw materials, mainly yarn, dye and chemicals, polyester, etc., for sale and supply to its members and non-members through own depots and agencies in area of operation
